After you install — grant permissions once

The desktop app speaks into whatever app you're in, so your OS asks permission the first time. You grant these once; then it just works. These are early unsigned builds, so your Mac or Windows also asks you to confirm the first launch — steps below.

🍎 macOS

  • First open (unsigned build) — double-click may say “Apple could not verify SetuInk is free of malware.” Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → scroll to Security → click Open Anyway, then confirm. Once only. (Goes away when we notarize.)
  • Microphone — prompted on first dictation.
  • Accessibility — System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility → enable SetuInk. Lets it paste at your cursor.
  • Input Monitoring — same menu → Input Monitoring → enable SetuInk. Powers hold-Fn-to-talk and double-tap hands-free.

🪟 Windows

  • Microphone — WebView2 prompts in-window on first use.
  • SmartScreen — on unsigned early builds: More info → Run anyway (goes away once builds are signed).

SetuInk reads only what it needs to type your words back — it never logs or sends your keystrokes.
